Prosthetic bridges

 – get to know the services at Victoria Clinic

Victoria Clinic offers the implementation of prosthetic bridges in missing teeth. The bridge consists of prosthetic crowns set on abutment teeth adjacent to missing teeth and a span – imitating missing teeth, hung just above the gum (alveolar process).

Information prosthetic bridge. The bridge is a permanent prosthetic filling up the lack of one to even a dozen teeth. This is a prosthetic solution that is permanently cemented in the mouth. Crowns and bridges are the most convenient and the most comfortable restorations of missing teeth, perfectly imitating natural teeth. Most bridges are made of porcelain on a metal foundation, which is characterized by good strength. The bridge consists of prosthetic crowns – set on abutment teeth adjacent to missing teeth and a span – imitating missing teeth, hung just above the gum (alveolar process).

Dentists from Victoria Clinic after consultation will decide if a bridge can be fitted. Please contact us.

Prosthetic bridges rebuild missing teeth using the patient’s other own teeth. Prosthetic bridges are made of two elements – pillars and a span. The pillars are two or more tooth crowns that are attached to the patient’s properly ground teeth, located between the tooth gap. Spans, in turn, are tooth crowns connected to pillars to be inserted in place of missing teeth. Prosthetic bridges are permanently attached and thus give greater comfort than removable dentures.

Prosthetic bridges can only be established if the patient is surrounded by a tooth gap. (they are to act as pillars). If the teeth in the upper jaw or mandible end in e.g. four, and the patient would like to rebuild the five, six and seven, the prosthetic bridges cannot be placed. One tooth is missing as a bridge support. In this situation, removable dentures can be used. The bridge construction requires the grinding of healthy abutment teeth. For this reason, prosthetic bridges are usually made when interdental deficiencies are significant. With slight deficiencies, the use of implants is preferred.

Prosthetic bridges types:

ceramic bridges (made on a metal foundation – base steel or gold)
full ceramic bridges
composite or acrylic bridges suitable as a temporary solution

Prosthetic bridges – how is it assumed

First visit – the doctor assesses the condition of the dental roots and surrounding bones. The condition for installing bridges is good quality and proper positioning of the abutment teeth.  Second visit – grinding the teeth located between the gap in the teeth. They will act as pillars The placement of prosthetic bridges takes place during three medical visits. performing an exact impression of teeth that will act as pillars making a second impression – opposing teeth. Thanks to this, the doctor is sure that the future bridge will match the bite matching the color of the bridge with the color of the remaining teeth, putting on temporary crowns or bridges to protect the ground teeth Third visit – the doctor checks if the new bridge has the right shape and color. If so, cement it.
